Meg's Cactus Gallery

Magnificent cactus blossoms.

Torch Cacti (hybrid)
Sorry, your browser doesn't support Java(tm).

Most of these cactus are growing in my backyard. The Saguaro flowers, shown here as the white blossoms among the green Mesquite were taken in the desert. Also the Southwestern Coral Bean, a member of the pea family, red terminal clusters against the blue sky was photographed in the wild.

The rest of the cactus have been hybrid purchases or plucked from the desert.
Of those, some of the names are as follows:
  • Hedgehog (purple blossoms)
  • DinosaurBack (green contorted cactus)
  • Prickly Pear (yellow with red center)
  • Yellow hybrid
  • Orange hybrid
  • Red hybrid
Sorry, I cannot do better with the names. I am not an expert on cactus, in fact, cactus appreciation is quite new to me. Before we moved to the desert, I had no idea how beautiful the thorny old cactus plant can become when mixed with the "monsoon season". Please enjoy the beauty of these blossoms.
